What can I expect from counselling?

Counselling can offer many benefits such as acceptance, validation, a clear mind, self-acceptance, improve your relationships, new coping skills, improved self-image, and self-compassion. Counselling is a collaborative and supportive process designed to help you feel heard, understood, and accepted. In therapy, you can expect validation, increased self-awareness, emotional clarity, and practical coping tools to support your well-being and relationships.

I work from a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach, meaning I view behaviors as meaningful responses to past and present experiences rather than problems to be fixed. Together, we will build trust and safety, explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop new perspectives rooted in self-compassion and understanding.

If you do not have clear goals when starting counselling, that is completely okay. We can take time to gently identify what you want support with and work together toward goals that feel realistic and aligned with your needs.

How much does counselling cost?

Individual counselling sessions are $160 per session.

Most extended health benefit plans cover counselling services. You will receive a receipt after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, e-transfer, and credit card payments.

Some insurance companies allow direct billing. Please contact me to confirm whether your provider is included.

How long is each counselling session?

Each counselling session is approximately 50 minutes. This allows time for meaningful therapeutic work while also supporting accurate documentation and continuity of care.

How often should I attend counselling?

The frequency of counselling sessions varies based on your individual needs, goals, and life circumstances. During our work together, we will discuss what feels most supportive and create a session schedule that works for you — whether that is weekly, bi-weekly, or more flexible support.

What types of sessions do you offer?

I offer individual counselling for adults. Sessions are available in the following formats:

  • In-person sessions

  • Virtual (online) counselling

  • Walking therapy sessions

We can choose the format that feels safest, most accessible, and most supportive for you.

What is your cancelation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.

I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and I approach cancellations with compassion. However, I do require communication and respect for both your time and mine. Late cancellations or missed sessions without notice may be subject to a fee.
